A software review would not be a review without looking at the company first. EdwinSoft has been in the business of developing web promotion software since 2004. Since their inception, the folks at EdwinSoft have developed an impressive catalog of product including:
I have used all of the above products with the exception of Rewriter Demon. So I’m sure your wondering why I don’t use RewriterDemon, right? Well, BookmarkingDemon, ArticleDemon and BlogCommentDemon all have built in spinners, as does Ultimate Demon. I use the Best Spinner for spinning large jobs, but when I need to spin something quickly, I use the built-in spinner function that is in all the tools.
EdwinSoft’s Software Reliability
There is nothing more frustrating than a software program that crashes all the time. I typically have ArticleDemon and Bookmarking Demon running around the clock because I like to drip my submission (spread them out over a very long period, usually 3-6 weeks). To my recollection, I can only recall the Article Demon crashing once. That is pretty impressive if you think about it. I was a former user of another SEO software and one of the benefits it listed is it would pick up right where it left off when the software crashed!! I would rather not have the feature and instead just give me a reliable, stable software.
One other thing to point out. EdwinSoft is dedicated to continually improving their software and adding frequent enhancements. As of this writing here are the current versions for EdwinSoft’s products:
Why is this important? Well, there are some developers out there who never develop their link building software past the beta version. Not so with EdwinSoft. This is one reason why I had enough confidence to buy Ultimate Demon on the launch date. There is another reason why this is important. Websites are always looking for ways to combat automated link building, but EdwinSoft also keeps evolving so your software does not become obsolete. If you purchased a link building software and the developers do not invest any more time improving their product, you just wasted a bunch of money. Period.
EdwinSoft’s Support Help Desk
When it comes to service and support, there is not better company to deal with. If you have purchased similare products, you know the service provided by many companies is sub-par at best. I have only had to contact EdwinSoft three times for various reasons. Here are the response times associated with each request:
- First request: Submitted at 12:00 pm; Support Response at 9:00 pm (9 hrs)
- Second request: Submitted at 9:47 pm; Support Response at 11:04 pm (1hr 17 min)
- Third request: : Submitted at 10:13 pm; Support response at 12:47 AM (2hrs 34 min)
This has been the best response time I have received from ANY software developer, period. If you purchased any software for internet marketing, web promotion, etc, you know that the support is typically sub-par at best.
Here is another cool feature of EdwinSoft’s products. If you need to submit a trouble ticket, the software will actually alert you with a small pop-up box in the right hand corner when the help desk has responded to your ticket.
Support Documentation, Manuals and Training Videos
The thing I hate most about some software developers are their crappy or non-existent user manuals. Too many of them rely on a knowledgebase or forum for you, the paying customer, to sift through in hopes of finding an answer! Every EdwinSoft product I have purchased has had ample user documentation and user videos. This is one reason I decided to purchase BookmarkingDemon after I purchased Article Demon.

The quality of the training material is the best in the industry and really is representative of the EdwinSoft brand. As I mentioned before, Ultimate Demon is intuitive and easy to learn, but if you have a question, there is ample training for you. Keep in mind, the training and support documentation is every bit a part of the product as the software itself. You pay for it, insist it’s good.
As a beta tester, I did not have training documentation but was able to figure out the software in a matter of minutes. Literally.
Graphical User Interface Design
Function over form, but form is still very important. What do I mean by that? Well, if you’re going to buy a product, it has to do what it says it’s going to do – that is, it must function well. Secondly, the product must be visually appealing and intuitive to use. You’ve seen them and probably used them – ugly looking software with a crappy user interface. EdwinSoft has taken considerable care to make their product functions (reliably) and looks good. Look, anytime you’re looking at this type of software, you’re spending a lot of money. If you’re dropping decent coin on a product then insist it looks good and is easy to use.

The first thing you’ll notice about Ultimate Demon is the care EdwinSoft took to design a very clean and intuitive interface. Like with many other well thought out products, there is elegance in simplicity.
Aside from being visually appealing, Ultimate Demon is extremely intuitive. Nearly everything you need is just two clicks away. The ribbon toolbar can be expanded or collapsed to give you more work space.

I want to quickly run through the tool bar to give you an idea about the features build into Ultimate Demon.
Account Profiles: This allows you to view all your account information for your Article, Bookmarking, Press Release, RSS Directories, Web 2.0, Video and Forum profiles.
Import/Export Accounts: If you have existing accounts for another software program or manually want to import accounts, this is where you do it.
Tools: In the tools menu you will find features to
- Remove duplicate text (very helpful if you’re trying to create unique lists or if you have a lot of sites you want to load into Ultimate Demon)
- Scan Page Ranks, IP and Alexa Ranking
- Create and load synonyms harvester for niche spinning of content.
- Spin Anchor Text – very important if you are using Ultimate Demon to build link wheels or link trees.
- Convert to spin text. This is a nifty tool if you have a list and you want to spin it. In the past I had to use excel’s concatenate function, but no longer.
Global Proxies: This feature allows you to use no proxies, use Internet Explorer proxy settings or use custom proxy servers (recommended).
If you’re concerned with your IP getting banned and don’t want to shell out more cash for a proxy service, consider using HotSpot Shield by AnchorFree. The free service does the job just fine as long as you’re not running several of the same link building tasks at the same time.
I’ve read where some folks are offering a free proxy scraping software as a “bonus” if you order Ultimate Demon through their site. Trust me, dealing with scrapped proxies is a more of a headache than a bonus and not worth your time. Either buy some proxies or use AnchorFree. There’s a bonus for ya! 
Ping Servers: UltimateDemon comes with about 93 ping server URL’s. You can always add more, but this is a very good list out of the box.
Visual Aid: UltimateDemon allows you to use Decaptcher, Bypasscaptcha, Deathbycaptcha and CAPTCHA Sniper. While you don’t have to use a captcha solving service to use UltimateDemon, it is a huge times saver and further automates your link building. Besides, it’s dirt cheap.
Generate Report: This feature allows you to generate a comprehensive report after the submission process. This will give you a good idea how many of your submissions were successful.
Export Live Links: This feature allows you to harvest all of the live links UltimateDemon detected during submission. This is an important feature since it will allow you to build link trees and link wheels. This feature works in conjunction with Spin Anchor Text (found in tools).

Spin, Spin Everywhere!
Ultimate Demon not only will allow you to spin your content, but also your account information with the following spinners: SpinChimp, ContentProfessor, or SpinnerChief. As of this writing I have only previewed the above spinners, so if you have used one of them, please leave a comment for other readers.
While this feature is not new to the EdwinSoft products, what is new is the amount of fields you can spin for sites that require more information like Web 2.0 sites. Auto Pinging Live Links.
I touched on the live link report above, but failed to tell you Ultimate Demon will immediately ping each live link after submission. Just becasue you submitted articles and bookmarks does not mean the search engines will find them. That is where pinging comes in.
Link Dripping – Patience Grasshopper, Patience.
Link building is a slow, methodical process that takes discipline and patience. UltimateDemon is far and away the best scheduler of any link building software. This ensures you don’t blast the search engines with thousands of links overnight. You want your link building to appear natural and organic. Otherwise, you could get you site slapped or even worse banned altogether. UltimateDemon’s scheduler give you total control when you “drip” links.
Ultimate Demon Submits At The Break Neck Turtle Speed of An Ordinary Human!
Okay, seriously. Ultimate Demon does a fine job emulating the submission speed of a real person. This is part of EdwinSoft’s sophisticated anti-bot technology which gives you much better success rates. Now, if you want the speed of a caffeinated Chuck Norris’ swift kick to the face (sorry had to do it), you can always throttle up the speed. SENuke is $147/month. According to the email and other marcom, Nuke4Me is perfect for those who “don’t have the time to learn a new software”, which is most of us. Now, I agree, SeNuke is a robust program, but months to learn and perfect? Hell, it doesn’t take that long to learn Adobe’s CS5 suite!! In my opinion, the product is unnecessarily complicated and expensive to boot.

Winner: Ultimate Demon. No contest. It takes just a few hours to master UD vs. “months”.

I’m pretty close to making a decision. Is there anything you don’t like about UD?
@Danimal The only thing I wish it would automate a little more is building link wheels and link trees. You still can do it in UD, but it just takes a little more time. Nonetheless, it’s a lot easier than trying to do it using a several types of software. It’s an alternative to SE Nuke but not a full on replacement. But, for the price, you can’t go wrong. If you need link trees build, just go to fiverr and type in SE Nuke.
I really like to tool, regardless.
David; super, balanced and informative review of Ultimate Demon. I was actually planning on buying Bookmarking Demon, but stumbled on this product and then your review of EdwinSoft’s SE Nuke alternative. I’m assuming that this product makes Book Marking Demon completely redundant, no?
@Paul If you don’t have BMD then yes, it’s a little redundant to buy both. Plus, EdwinSoft is in the process of building in link wheel support for UltimateDemon, making UD a more comprehensive link building tool.
UNLESS, you already have BookmarkingDemon and have established accounts you’ve been using for awhile. In the near future you will be able to export your sites from BMD to UD with a click of a button. I plan on still using BMD on my wife’s computer for other projects since I have hundreds of established accounts that are ready to go. I’ll also create additional accounts with with UltimateDemon to give me even access to more accounts. You can say I’m a belt and suspender kinda guy. I like to be repetitively redundant!
I guess you could use UD or BMD for high quality backlinking and the other for high volume backlinking. It’s nice to have the option. Besides, it’s a sunk cost for me.
That’s helpful to know – I guess giving UD a try makes the most sense. I’ll have a closer look tomorrow and make my decision. If I do, I WILL be purchasing through your link, and hitting you up for that bonus.

Anyway, I plan on creating a video for the video submission function in Ultimate Demon. The way it works is identical to all the other task in UD, (select sites, select accounts, point to the video path (this is the only thing that is different), fill out your content, hit submit). I have uploading videos using UltimateDemon during beta, and it to work fine. The reason why I’ve created so many vids for UD is specifically so I can use this function. Now, truth be told, I’m new to video marketing in general.
Video marketing is pretty new to many SEO enthusiast, but it’s a powerful marketing tool.. I think we forget that SEO is first and far most a marketing activity that should be focused on driving traffic and creating interest with potential clients and customers. The ancillary benefit of video marketing is generating links back to our site and achieving a better SERP. Sorry for the tangent, back to your question.

I’m sure each of them use some type of known script (footprint) that UD can detect, which is nice if you want to use UD’s built in URL scraper. I still need check out each of the sites and understand what are their requirements (i.e. file size limits, description box does and dont’s, et.)

@Erin: Yes, just make sure you have it on before you fire up UD (I really don’t think it matters, that’s just what I do). In the bottom left hand corner your IP address should have a bunch of zeros. Once you submit a task UD should say something to the effect of “Cannot retrieve IP”.
I have used it for a while and never had any issues with it. In terms of a footprint, sites may get a little suspicious, but a lot of people use this tool for regular internet surfing. The only issue I’ve noticed is when I’m trying to sign into google or youtube. I get the, “hey, is that really you?” screen.
Now that being said, I currently use proxies and I think the more you get into it, proxies are a better solution. If you’re doing one or two campaigns at a time, this solution works well. If you’re doing 5 or 6 at a time, look at getting proxies.
If you’re your internet activities are making you money via adsense, clickbank, selling a product or whatever, buy the proxies as they are a business expense. If you’re just getting started, it’s all about keeping our operating cost as low as possible. Anyway, try it out. It is a much better solution than scrapped proxies, which are a huge pain in the ass.

How does the live link feature work for article directories? Since many take time for approval, is the program able to go back and check accounts to see if articles have been approved and then grab the live links after the fact?

Thanks, Jim. It will try to verify the link after submission, so as of right now it does not have a function where it goes back and checks publication. The list it does retrieve is also the same list it uses to ping. From what I understand, this is on the enhancement roadmap.

Thanks for visiting. Yes, you can use UD to promote your business for Canadian oriented search engines or other countries for that matter. Since country / regional search engines use the same algo’s, it should not make a difference. It is a good idea to build some backlinks with the the .ca TLD.
In terms of supporting directories or other back-linking sites such as bookmarking sites, article directories, and the like, you’ll want to use UD’s scraper to load more sites with your region’s TLD (.ca). This is a pretty easy feature to use and something I was thinking about to add to the bonus. Let me know what other question I can help you with.

Since you can determine what sites you want to build back links with, you can control which country and regional TLD you want to use. For example, if I wanted to only submit links to .ca or .au, I could by making them a “group” in UD. So whenever I run a new campaign, I just select that group. Does that help?
The bonus primarily covers .com, & .net, but I think it would be a nice addition to the bonus to add .ca, .au .co.uk etc.. If you purchased, I could start developing specific .ca list for you to load into UD. Keep in mind, the list won’t be as big, but we can make sure we get you quality sites with a high page rank.

I recently jumped into SEO Marketing and tried a couple of SEO s/ws like SEO Powersuite or IBP. They were good but when it comes to actual link building, it was quite tough for me to choose right links, sending e-mails to link partners, fill out forms requesting link backs, put outbound links into my website, and so on…

@William: I was working on it this evening, but still have a long way to go. What I’m finding is the vast majority of bookmarking, article, ect are on your traditional TDLs’.
I also looked at the grouping feature and I’m not sure we can group by TLDs. I’m contacting support to find out how to do it. Stay tuned.

Just about to buy but have a few questions. If you can clear these up, will be happy to order through you.
1. Looking at the option of private proxies and the cost. They seem to come in packages e.g 1, 5, 10, 20 up to 2,000. Realistically, how many private proxies would you need? I would only be working on 1 site / project at a time and looking to drip most links at 5 per day for articles and web 2.0, 50 bookmarks per day etc so certainly would not be doing any big scale blasting or building
2. I like the scheduler so I can add a few new posts per day to articles, bookmarks etc. How does this work if I am working from a PC, does the PC need to be running 24/7 or will it still work from sleep / standby mode. I am not actually sure if UD is browser based or a client on the PC so cannot see the requirements to make sure a scheduler can run when required.
3. I work by writing a unique, quality article and have a person who is an expert at spintex do a top quality spintex of the sentence, paragraph and individual words so the spun articles really are highly unique and very readable.
In my manual method, I would produce a spin with the best spinner, have a read over it and make a few small changes if needed to ensure 100% quality and readability and then submit. How would this work with UD? I presume I load in the spintex content and for every new article automatically published, it uses a new spun copy? I presume there is not a way to make a final edit of the spun version that wil be published? I have seen a few products that just take one article and pump it out to all the article sites which is worthless as they are all just duplicate content.

Hopefully I can help clear some of your questions up.
1.) You don’t need to go crazy with proxies. Five to ten would be a great start. You start running into issues when you build multiple accounts with the same site. Using the local settings vs. global proxy settings will also help you from getting your IP’s banned. I use myprivateproxies.net and have been pleased. There are less expensive options out there, but if you see your submission success rate drop it is usually your proxy provider and not Ultimate Demon.
2.) This is a good question and I’m not 100% sure. I know UD is socket based vs. browser based and like you, I drip all of my submissions. I usually keep my PC running 24/7 and never had an issue submitting….I’m pretty certain the PC’s go into sleep/stand-by mode, but I’ve never had an issue with UD not running. I would need to contact support to give you a better answer, but I’m pretty certain it does UD will work if you PC goes to sleep or stand-by mode.
3.) I would love to throw your expert some more business. One thing I hate doing are deeps spins (paragraph, sentence, word). Anyway, UD has several API options for most of the popular spinning products. Personally I only use them for very small spin jobs. In most all other cases, I will “super” spin in The Best Spinner, run a few examples, tweak and then load into UD. UD does a very good job publishing a spun article. I cannot recall a single time when it submitted the same article to two different sites.
